State-Level Cross Agency Collaborations: Stories and Strategies from the Field Designed to Address the Direct Support Professionals Staff (DSP) Crisis

This session explores how a state collaborates across agencies to address the shortage of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Panelists from the LEAD Center and Direct Care Workforce Strategies Center discuss how technical assistance and peer learning help states exchange strategies and proven practices. Additionally, panelists from North Carolina discuss how their state engages in cross-agency initiatives to positively impact recruitment and retention of DSPs.

- Learn about resources and assistance available from two federal agencies to support states to address the DSP crisis.
- Explore how North Carolina’s approach can be adapted by other states to meet local and regional needs.
