How WIOA Can Support Workers Facing Economic Challenges

Wednesday, April 29, 2020
3:00pm - 4:00pm ET

In the U.S. today, the COVID-19 emergency presents a time of significant health and economic uncertainty for individuals with disabilities, as well as their families and communities.

In recognition of financial literacy month in April, the LEAD Center, a project of the Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), is hosting a two-part webinar series that will provide information, financial tools, and strategies that individuals and workforce professionals can use immediately in response to the urgent challenges ahead.

On Wednesday, April 22, the LEAD Center Technical Assistance team will be joined by experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the New York Legal Assistance group, and National Disability Institute (NDI) to share strategies that workers with disabilities can implement immediately. Then, on Wednesday, April 29, the team will welcome representatives from several workforce boards to highlight a few key ways the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and workforce professionals can support workers facing economic challenges today and in the future.
