Designing Accessible Digital Services for a Modern Workforce System: Lessons from Federal and State Leaders

Thursday, July 9, 2026
2:00pm - 3:30pm ET

As states continue to modernize the public workforce system, workforce services are increasingly delivered digitally. That means accessible digital platforms are essential for getting high-quality services to all job seekers, including Americans with disabilities.

To learn whether your state rises to federal accessibility standards, join us for an informative, interactive webinar led by the LEAD Center, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Civil Rights Center and Office of Disability Employment Policy, and state leaders from Colorado and Minnesota.

State panelists will answer registrant-submitted questions and offer practical insights on how states address accessibility challenges, strengthen internal capacity, and improve customer experience across digital platforms and workforce programs.

Attendees will:

  • Understand how federal digital accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1, support compliance with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Section 188 in the public workforce system.
  • Apply state-tested strategies to strengthen digital accessibility.
  • Identify ways to embed accessibility into organizational strategy and daily operations.
  • Explore key strategies and actionable steps highlighted in the new LEAD Center brief, “Improving Digital Accessibility in the Public Workforce Development System.”
