3:00pm - 4:30pm ET

Don’t miss this webinar on promoting Equal Opportunity and complying with the requirements of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act’s (WIOA’s) Section 188.

Achieving Equal Access and Opportunity is an evolving process. Challenges arise. Strategies change. Join the U.S. Department of Labor’s Civil Rights Center (CRC) and Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), the LEAD Center and leaders from state workforce systems on February 27, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. (EST) for a webinar to release an updated online Promising Practices in Achieving Nondiscrimination and Equal Opportunity: A Section 188 Disability Reference Guide. The updated and expanded Guide provides state and regional workforce systems and partners with a quick and easy way to identify successful strategies and new promising practices that promote equal opportunity for youth and adults with disabilities.

This webinar will review this new valuable resource for state and regional Workforce systems and partners, and offer attendees the opportunity to learn about the successful implementation of these strategies and practices firsthand. Workforce system representatives from several states will detail their use of the Guide and perspectives on how the Guide helps them prioritize and inform their service delivery and training. Attendees will hear about the specific strategies that have been most impactful in these states, and can ask questions about what they can do in their own systems.

Who should participate? The Disability Reference Guide can assist Equal Opportunity Officers, workforce staff and leadership in better ensuring Nondiscrimination and Equal Opportunity. The Guide provides examples of promising practices to help shape strategic planning, marketing and outreach strategies, partnerships with community groups, training, intake and assessment, and other service delivery methods, to enable job seekers with disabilities to effectively and successfully participate in workforce, training and career pathways programs.
