MS DMH Operational Standards(on Supported Employment) for Mental Health, Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Community Service Providers

“Rule 28.5 Supported Employment A. Supported Employment is the ongoing support to individuals who, because of their disabilities, need intensive, ongoing support to obtain and maintain an individual job in competitive or customized employment, or self-employment. B. Employment should be in an integrated work setting in the general workforce for which an individual is compensated at or above the minimum wage but not less than the customary wage and level of benefits paid by the employer for the same or similar work performed by individuals without disabilities. These operational standards outline the employment options and services for job seekers with disabilities. The disabilities services include pre-vocational services, job discovery, supported employment and inclusive, community living services.
