Michigan State HCBS Transition Plan
In 2014, the Federal Government issued a new rule for Medicaid waiver programs that pay for home and community-based services. The goal of the new rule is to ensure that individuals who receive home and community-based services are an equal part of the community and have the same access to the community as people who do not receive Medicaid waiver services. The MDHHS must assess Michigan waiver programs and transition each program into compliance with new rule.
MDHHS developed a Statewide Transition Plan (STP) to outline the transition process for Michigan Medicaid waiver programs.
