DC Continuing Education: Supported Employment for Veterans With PTSD

Course Description
“Individual placement and support (IPS) is an evidence-based approach to helping individuals with mental health diagnoses obtain competitive employment. IPS prioritizes rapid job search for employment opportunities that match an individual’s needs, talents and preferences along with integrated mental health care and ongoing support.
This course reviews the research support for IPS, spanning multiple countries, diagnoses and contexts. The presenter also discusses trials focused on unemployed Veterans with PTSD, including a large VA Cooperative Study, that report superior outcomes with IPS compared to usual care vocational rehabilitation. Program cost and cost efficacy, return on social investment and an ongoing Pay-for-Success dissemination of this best practice are discussed.”
