HempsteadWorks Career Center LGBTQ Inclusive Services Webinar Training Series

This training series helps workforce staff and administrators understand the unique needs of those in the LGBTQ+ community. As a result of the training, they have implemented the following practices, among others:

• Written personnel policies, including non-discrimination, diversity and non-harassment policies that explicitly include sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression.
• They ask their American Job Center (AJC) partners and potential employer pool for their non-discrimination policies.
• Marketing materials include photos and/or text indicating AJC programs are LGBTQ+ inclusive.
• Physical spaces are welcoming to all gender identities.
• Staff are familiar with and trained to provide culturally appropriate referrals to organizations and professionals serving transgender clients and their families.
