A Fair Shot for Workers with Disabilities

Center for American Progress | Rebecca Vallas, Shawn Fremstad and Lisa Ekman
January 2015 | Report/Brief

The most recent available data put the poverty rate for working-age people with disabilities at 34.5 percent in 2013, compared with 12.2 percent for those without disabilities. Yet the intersection of disability and poverty is too rarely discussed and/or examined. This report examines that intersection and provides an insightful perspective on what our country and its leaders can do to remedy this disability-non disability pay gap.
