This policy brief from the Employer Assistance and Resource Network (EARN) summarizes a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NRPM) from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision (EEOC). The EEOC's NRPM proposes updates to Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires affirmative action and nondescrimination practices in the employment of individuals with disabilities by the Federal government. Changes and key provisions of the NRPM are highlighted to help Federal employers, disability advocates and other stakeholders formulate responses to the NRPM.
