  • Explore if/how your state/local workforce system and WIOA partners incorporate the Guideposts for Success elements listed above into their programs and Individual Employment Plans (IEPs)/Individualized Plans for Employment (IPEs).
  • Learn how AJCs and WIOA youth programs use individual transition plans to drive continuing education and post-secondary education for youth with disabilities.
  • Learn how youth in your workforce system gain access to specific individual learning accommodations while they are in school, and how they apply to employment, job training and continuing education.
  • Research critical resources that influence career choices for youth with disabilities, including work incentive/benefits counseling, disability-related work supports, accommodation requirements, and assistive technology needs.
  • Identify the financial literacy providers available to youth enrolled in WIOA programs in your region.
  • Invite state/local financial partners to speak to the local workforce development board and AJC staff on how advancing financial capability can positively influence employment.
  • Find out if AJC Business Service or partner staff engage banks, credit unions, and/or housing lending programs that can offer financial literacy education for AJC customers.
  • Learn if your state or city has an asset-building coalition that offers financial capability trainings, informational resources, and services to AJC customers.
